Emerson East neighborhood is creating a chalk mural on the theme "a sustainable neighborhood".  Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice is sending a bus to Chicago to join in a  arge, family-friendly march  to protest the summit meeting lof NATO, the U.S.-led military alliance behind the war in Afghanistan which now accounts for  nearly two-thirds of world military spending and  more than 60% of global arms sales. The WNPJ bus will leave the UW-Madison Memorial Union at 8:30am on Sunday, and return by 8pm the same day. The bus will also stop to pick up riders in Janesville. It’s Bike to Work Week here in Madison and the Wisconsin Bike Fed will host a group ride tonight, starting at 5:30pm from the Wil-Mar Center, 953 Jenifer Street. See how easy and fun it is to go by bike for work or for errands, and earn a $20 voucher for the East Side Trek Store! 

Tomorrow morning from 7-10am, is the Wisconsin Bike Federation’s 6th Annual Bacon on the Bike Path! The commuter station will be located on the bike path along Lake Monona between the Monona Terrace and Broom Street. There will also be bike tech support provided by Willy Street Bikes and fresh coffee from Just Coffee.
