Madison Veterans for Peace will hold their annual Memorial Day commemoration on today, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the west end of James Madison Park. Music will be provided by The Raging Grannies and Harmonious Wail. Keynote speaker will be Deborah Sweet from The World Can't Wait. Title of her speech: Humanity, The Planet and the U.S. Drone War. At the end of the program audience members can volunteer to read the names of Americans and civilians killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. No cover. Contact 222-7136 for more information

The Madison Veterans Council will sponsor a Memorial Day Ceremony on the State Street Entrance at 9:30 a.m. Call 266-1311 for details.
Compassionate Friends-Madison Chapter is hosting an event for families who have experienced the death of a child, today at 11AM at the Vilas Park children's playground, with music, poetry; and a potluck. If you have experienced the death of a child of any age or from any cause, please bring your families to this memorial service to help remember our children and honor their lives.
