This weekend, Anthology and Absolutely Art will co-host a Studio Garage Sale featuring donated craft supplies such as fabric and ribbon scraps, buttons,1960’s magazines and other odds ‘n ends. Proceeds benefit local children’s art programs such as the Art Cart, Shirts That Supply, Lussier Center & Monroe Street Fine Arts Center. This weekend, the 48 Hour Film Project, an international film making competition held in over 80 cities worldwide, holds its fourth annual Madison competition. In the competition, teams compete to create a short film from scratch, with writing, shooting, editing and scoring original music in 48 hours. The winning film will compete against films from around the world to be named “The Best 48 Hour Film of 2010.” The competition starts at 7 pm on Friday, July 16 and ends at 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 18. On the 2nd Thursday of each month, The Silly Yak Bakery & Bread Barn donates 10% of its day’s sales to an organization in and around Madison. This Thursday's recipient is Three Gaits Therapeutic Center in Stoughton. Three Gaits is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide an effective therapeutic horsemanship program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs.
