On Tuesday and Friday afternoons there is a food pantry at the Catholic Multicultural Center, 1862 Beld Street. Clients choose anything shelved based on food availability. This is between 2:30 and 4:30. They ask clients to register before 1:00 the day before. Call 255-1287 for details.

Tuesday evening the Worker’s Rights Center and others hold a press conference and rally in support of the twenty-eight Latino workers who were recently fired. They were fired with no notice from six local Taco Bell restaurants due to “No Match” issues. They have filed charges with the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC). To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal, the India Initiative and the Center for South Asia are sponsoring a film screening of the film Bhopal Express tonight at 5:30.
