Alliance for Animals presents "Banning Circus Elephants in Dane County - what the public needs to know". Tonight from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Pinney Branch Public Library, 204 Cottage Grove Road. The general public is invited to attend an informative presentation about the use of elephants in circuses and why it is time for Dane county to ban elephant acts. There will be a discussion about the training of elephants, the USDA citations against George Carden Circus, which contracts with the Zor Shrine Circus, and the safety concerns about the circus providing elephant rides to children and adults. A resolution to ban the use of elephants at the Alliant Energy Center has been introduced to the county Board of Supervisors. Warm up, relax, and refresh at the Verona Public Library during the USA Cycling National Championship Cyclo-Cross races on January 4 through January 8. The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic is free tax assistance program that serves individuals who have a problem with the Internal Revenue Service and whose income is below a certain level. LITCs are independent from the IRS. Most LITCs can provide representation before the IRS or in court on audits, tax collection disputes, and other issues for free or for a small fee.
