It may be winter in Wisconsin, but Olbrich’s 'Children of the Rainforest' series can transport you to a sunny spot! Chicago-based Samba 1 Brazilian Dance Group debuts at Olbrich for two special performances on Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tickets for Children of the Rainforest are available at the door. Children ages 2 and under are free. The Children of the Rainforest series celebrates the cultures of rainforest regions around the world and fosters an attitude of stewardship toward the natural environment. The 18th Annual Country Breakfast will be held Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Middleton High School Student Center at 2100 Bristol Street. Come enjoy all you can eat pancakes plus ham, eggs, fresh oranges and beverages. Tickets are available at the door. This Sunday, controversial Middle East Studies expert Dr. Kevin Barrett will speak on "The Neocon Agenda and the Post-9/11 World." The talk is free and open to the public. It will take place from 3 to 5 pm at the Weary Traveler, 1201 Williamson Street in Madison. This event is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Sifting and Winnowing Club, the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, and Scholars for 9/11 Truth.

On Monday at 3:00pm there will be a 'Vigil Against the Drones!' While basic services are being cut for the people of Wisconsin, plans are under way to build an $8 million drone training facility at Camp Williams in western Wisconsin. Drone strikes have dramatically increased since President Obama took office. Credible sources report that well over 2000 innocent civilians have been killed, including many children. The vigil will be held outside the gates of Camp Williams/Volk Field ( just off I94 near Camp Douglas in Juneau County), Madison car-pool will leave at 1:00 pm from the downtown Post Office corner of MLK Blvd. Sponsored by Madison Pledge of Resistance.
