This afternoon, the Rainbow Connection meets at OutReach. The Rainbow Connection is a gathering of LGBTQ people who have dealt with mental health issues. This is at OutReach, 600 Williamson Street, from 4 to 6. For more information, email info@lgbtoutreach.org or call 255-8582.

This evening, Community Groundworks at Troy Gardens and the Northside Artists Group host an opening for “Celebrating the Land: The Joy of Troy Gardens”. The exhibit comes from twenty-two artists who offer their renditions through photography, painting, drawing, wall sculpture, and fiber art. This evening, the Urban League of Greater Madison is hosting a forum with members of Dane County’s African American community to discuss ways the Urban League can support the education and employment needs and aspirations of African American children, youth, and adults in greater Madison. This evening, the Open University of the Left hosts a discussion on the capitalist economic crisis. This is at the Stendhal Parlor, 404 South Park Street above the University Audio store at 6:30. Enter at the rear of building. Call 442-8399 to arrange for participation.

On the 2nd Thursday of each month, The Silly Yak Bakery & Bread Barn donates 10% of its day’s sales to an organization in and around Madison. This Thursday's recipient is Three Gaits Therapeutic Center in Stoughton. Three Gaits is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide an effective therapeutic horsemanship program for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs. The Silly Yak Bakery & Bread Barn is located at 7866 Mineral Point Road.
