This evening the Dane County Foreclosure Prevention Taskforce hosts a “foreclosure prevention Workshop.” Attendees will learn about programs to help manage their mortgages and other things. This is in the Madison Urban Ministry building, 2222 South Park Street at 6:00. Registration is required for the two session workshop. Call 261-5677 for details.

Today through June twenty-seventh is WORT’s summer pledge drive. The theme is a summery "SPF 89.9". The station is looking for phone answerers and pledgers. It provides nifty premiums and a warm fuzzy feeling to pledge-takers. For details call 256-2001 and tell ‘em those nice “kiosk folks” sent you.

The Wheelchair Recycling Program offers low cost, refurbished mobility and medical equipment to people that may not have the resources to obtain new. This can include wheelchairs, walkers, bath items, grab bars and other assistive equipment for purchase. There are offices in Madison and the Greater-Milwaukee area. The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen, whose families are under stress or in crisis. They are looking for volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.

Project Home is seeking volunteers to help low income elderly and differently-abled people whose homes need protection from the elements. Painting day is in mid-August. Call 246-3737 for details.
