This evening there is a picket to mark the third anniversary of the boycott against “La Hacienda”restauraunt   The organizers will quote “send a message to the owner that we expect businesses to obey the law and treat their workers fairly.” They have been cited for multiple violations of wage and hour laws.  This is at 5:00 at 515 South Park Street. This evening the “Literacy Network” hosts a book launch at “Barnes and Noble” West, for "Horse-Drawn Days: A Century of Farming with Horses” by Jerry Apps. The Wisconsin Historical Society Press publishes it. This is at7:00 in 7433 Mineral Point Road. Call 264-6465 for details.

Project Home is seeking eligible Dane County homeowners needs volunteers to help low income elderly and differently-abled people whose homes need protection from the elements. Painting day is in mid-August. Call 246-3737for details.
 
The Women and Infant Children (WIC) Nutrition program offers a wide variety of services, food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children less than five years of age healthy and strong. For details call 267-1111.
 
Evening Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.
