This evening the South Central Federation of Labor hosts the fifty-first annual “Committee on Political Education” (COPE) Bean Feed. COPE holds activities such as phone banks and mailings to some local unionists. Attendees can get all the beans, hot dogs and potato salad desired, plus one free soda or beer. Tomorrow at noon on WORT’s A Public Affair host Allen Ruff speaks with Commentator, Glen Ford of the “Black Agenda Report” on Obama's imperialism. Call 256-2001 for details.

Project Home is seeking eligible Dane County homeowners needing the exterior of their homes painted. They are also looking for volunteers to help low income elderly and differently-abled people whose homes need protection for the elements. Painting day is in mid-August and application day for eligible homeowners is in mid-May. Call 246-3737 for details.
