Tonight at 6 pm, Frank Hassler from Good Oak Ecological Services, will be offering a Wildflower Walk. Today’s topic is Wood Lilies at Sugar River Savanna. Wood lilies are some of the most brilliant wildflowers which can be seen alongside penstimon, spiderwort and other June jewels. Tonight from 7:30 to 9:00pm at the UW-Madison, Rm. 1651 Humanities Bldg., Friends of Chernobyl Centers, Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA), National Peace Foundation, and the Open World Program of the Library of Congress will sponsor Chernobyl Town Hall Meeting – The public is invited to learn what life is like in the Chernobyl affected areas from five visiting Ukrainian delegates as they share their experiences. Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue, offers a Garden Answer Service every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m., until the end of August. A trained garden resource volunteer will be available in Olbrich's Schumacher Library. Questions can also be phoned in during those times at 246-5805 or e-mailed in advance to ljacobson@cityofmadison.com. Participants are asked NOT to bring diseased or infested plant materials to Olbrich. More information at 246-4550.

Tonight at 7pm, the Monona Terrace will host Concerts on the Rooftop at 1 John Nolen Drive in Madison. Tonight, the Rising Gael band will be featured. The series offers free live music every Thursday evenings in June and July on the Monona Terrace rooftop garden. In the case of inclement weather, call 261-4000 after 2:00 pm for concert location.

The Madison Blues Society will hold its 8th Annual Blues Picnic on Saturday at Warner Park. You can enter at 2930 North Sherman Avenue or at 1625 Northport Drive. The event is FREE. Live music, food, drink, beer and fun in the sun are on the agenda. Blankets and chairs are suggested. A variety of traditional and ethnic food vendors will be on hand along with Capital Brewery.
