It’s Today’s Action Calendar!

This evening “Olbrich Gardens” holds the next in its series of summer concert series. This evening’s concert features “Concert Band Favorites.” The series runs on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 through July in 3330 Atwood Avenue. Call 246-4550 for details.

This evening the Dane County Board of Supervisors addresses the ethics of animal experimentation. The Health and Human Needs committee will establish an advisory panel to study the treatment of monkeys used in experiments especially those in Dane County. This is at 5:45 in room 310 of the City-County building, 210 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. Call “The Alliance for Animals” at 257-6333 for details.

This evening the “Affordable Housing Action Alliance” (AHAA) holds a meeting to identify the most pressing housing concerns in Dane County and solutions to address them. These include expanding low income housing opportunities. This is from 6:00 to 8:00 on the second floor of the Mifflin Street downtown public library. Call 256-5111 for details.

The Insurgent Radio Kiosk needs a volunteer co-producer, engineers and readers. They take as little as three to five hours weekly. Interested people should call the station at 256-2001 and leave a message of interest for the Kiosk.

The Women and Infant Children (WIC) Nutrition program offers a wide variety of services, food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children less than five years of age healthy and strong. For details call 267-1111.

Care Wisconsin offers many programs and services designed to help older adults. They offer coordinated health care and long-term support services for Medicaid-eligible older adults. These may have chronic conditions requiring nursing home level of care, adult day centers and home care services. Call 240-0020 for details.
