This evening, the Wisconsin Department of Administration Building holds a public information meeting on Wisconsin's High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail. This is at the WDA, 101 East Wilson Street, from 4:30 to 7:30. Check wisconsinrail.gov or call Alyssa Macy at (414)220-6802 for more details.

This evening, the People's Economic Project of the Peregrine Forum hosts a discussion entitled "What Makes Capitalism Tick?". This is above the University Audio shop, 404 South Park Street, at 6:30. The entrance is in the back. For information or for recommended readings, call 442-8399.

Tonight, UTI, Madison Area Peace Coalition, Madison College Socialist Club, and International Socialist Organization host a discussion regarding SB1070, the immigration bill, in Arizona. This is also a fundraiser for people wanting to go protest the Arizona Diamondbacks/Milwaukee Brewers game in Milwaukee on August 11th. This is at the Villager Mall, 2234 South Park Street, at 7:30. This weekend, the Young Shakespeare Players stage Macbeth. The Young Shakespeare Players is a children's theater program in young people perform full-length works of Shakespeare. Any child of approximately the right age may take part simply by registering. Every young participant receives one or more speaking roles. This is at 1806 West Lawn.
