This evening the Sequoya branch of the Madison Public Library holds a meeting of a chess club. It is open to people of all ages and skill levels. This is at 6:00 in 4340 Tokay Boulevard. Call 266-6385 for details. This is an on-going event.
This evening Olbrich Gardens has the next in its ‘Concerts in the Garden’ series. It is the “New Horizons Swing Band” featuring “Swing music” These are every Tuesday evening at 7:00 through July at 3330 Atwood Avenue. Call 246-4550 for details.

Tonight “GenderQueer” Madison is putting out a call for performers in a genderqueer variety show. The first meeting is at 8:00 in the Gateway Mall’s Outreach Center, 600 Williamson Street. Call 255-8582 for details.

Through July in the Mifflin Street Madison Public Library there is an art display. Quote “Jason Skoog uses mixed media on paper to create colorful, imaginative worlds with open-ended narratives. This features both small and large works populated by a variety of intriguing characters and objects like sailors, station wagons, gazelles and swimming pools. Catholic Charities announces the “Caring for Myself” Program. It is an education program designed to support the health and well-being of African American primary caregivers of children with developmental disabilities. Please contact Marian Slaughter, 256-2358 to get or give help.

The Insurgent Radio Kiosk needs a volunteer co-producer, engineers and readers. They take as little as three to five hours weekly. Interested people should call the station at 256-2001 and leave a message of interest for the Kiosk.
