Every weekday at noon the “Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice” hosts a “Solidarity Sing-a-long” at the Wisconsin State Capitol building. Song books will be provided. Call 250-9240 for details.

“Evening Meals on Wheels” needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.

Low cost spayings and neuterings for dogs and cats are available through the Dane County Humane Society and Maddie’s Fund. There are various times and prices and they include an FVRCP vaccine. “Community Literacy” is a “Literacy Network English as a Second Language” program designed to tutor adult learners one-on-one in a classroom setting where childcare and additional tutor support are available. Governor Walker's attack on Wisconsin does not end with collective bargaining, education, and health care -- it extends to our environment as well. One of the largest assaults on Wisconsin’s ecosystem may come from mining deregulation and the proposed mine in the Lake Superior Bad River watershed. This evening “Q-Cinema” of the LGBTQA organization, “Outreach” hosts a free screening of the “Indian” film, “Yours Emotionally.” This will be followed by a discussion and camaraderie session. This is at 6:30 in 600 Williamson Street. Popcorn will be provided.

“Evening Meals on Wheels” needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.
 
Low cost spayings and neuterings for dogs and cats are available through the Dane County Humane Society and Maddie’s Fund. There are various times and prices and they include an FVRCP vaccine. Caretakers of feral or free-roaming cats can be helped as well. Call 838-0413 extension 103 for an appointment or details.

“Community Literacy” is a “Literacy Network English as a Second Language” program designed to tutor adult learners one-on-one in a classroom setting where childcare and additional tutor support are available. This afternoon teens in grades six through twelve are invited to “Teen Tuesday” at the “Goodman South Madison Branch” library. This evening the group, “Slave Free Madison” hosts a panel of local experts including “Clauding O'Leary”, activist and community educator, who leads workshops for teens to help prevent dating and sexual violence among Milwaukee youth. Every weekday at noon the “Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice” hosts a “Solidarity Sing-a-long” at the Wisconsin State Capitol building. Song books will be provided. Call 250-9240 for details.

“The Women and Infant Children” Nutrition program offers a wide variety of services, food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children less than five years of age healthy and strong. For details call 267-1111.
 
Wisconsin Books to Prisoners is a non-profit organization sponsored by “Rainbow bookstore” that sends books to prisoners in Wisconsin and other states.
