Green Madison Helps You Save program meets today to help City of Madison residents reduce costs while increasing the comfort and safety of their homes. This will be at the Madison Senior Center, 330 West Mifflin Street from 10 to 11am. Call 266-6581 to register.

Hancock Center for Dance and Movement Therapy is hosting a free Introduction to Empowerment through Movement: A Therapy Group for Women. The program will introduce the class and demonstrate experiential activities of this body-based therapy group for women. No prior movement experience necessary and it’s open to any woman. This will be from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Hancock Center, 16 North Hancock Street, downtown Madison. Please RSVP or for more information call 608- 251-0908.

Walkerville – a ‘city’ of tents around the Capitol square calling attention to the devastating state budget cuts to education, health care and other programs benefiting working families continues until June 20th. Today is Democracy and Corporate Power Day with events all day and a screening of the film “Too big to Fail” about the (quote) “systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption." the 2008 bailouts of the big banks”. This happens tonight at 9pm at the capitol square.

A Free Puppet and Mask Workshop will be held tonight in preparation for the 3rd annual Procession of the Species Parade that is part of the Summer Solstice Festival in Olbrich Park scheduled for June 25th. This will be at Lucky Mojo Studio, 2717 Atwood Avenue, from 6-9 p.m. Contact Laurie at 241-0259 for more information.

Street Pulse, Madison's Homeless cooperative newspaper, seeks to find innovative ways to alleviate and raise awareness of homelessness and poverty, find accessible employment and provide a platform for important, marginalized voices neglected by popular media to be heard.
