This evening, Cartoonist Mike Konopacki will host this labor-themed reception, art exhibit, and author panel with the theme of "Workers of Wisconsin Unite." The reception begins at 5:00pm and a panel of laborauthors speaks from 6 to 7:30. This is free and open to the public and is at the Madison Labor Temple, 1602 South Park Street, at 6:30. Tomorrow, the Socialist Potluck holds their monthly meeting. They host Dr. Kim Scipes, a member of the National Writers Union, has been active in the labor movement for 25 years and is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Purdue University North Central. He will speak on his recent book, The AFL-CIO's Secret War Against Developing Country Workers: Solidarity or Sabotage?” The Socialist Potluck is an opportunity for socialist to come together to discuss issues. Sunday evening, there is a benefit entitled “Funk for Japan” with the American Red Cross. It features the Clyde Stubblefield Band along with the Gomers. There is a suggested donation.
