This evening there is a “Public Meeting on the Dane County Task Force on Racial Disparities in the Criminal Justice System.” This is an informational meeting to discuss how government officials are responding to reducing the rate of racial disparity in the Dane county criminal justice system. This evening the “Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice” and others host a panel discussion entitled, "Public safety and nuclear power: From Japan to Chernobyl to Wisconsin." Panelists include Jo Oyama-Miller, Board President of Madison-Obihiro, Japan Sister Cities. This is at 7:00 in room 202 of the Madison public library central branch at 201 West Mifflin Street. This evening on WORT’s “Access Hour” the host is “Rockwell Rice”. He runs a nonprofit that puts on recitals to benefit charities. He’ll play classical guitar and talk about upcoming events and how they all come together. That’s at 7:00. Call 256-2001 for details.

Tomorrow morning “Wisconsin Resists” a new coalition formed to stop Scott Walker's agenda is holding a rally at the Dane County Courthouse. The group opposes the Governor’s recent moves regarding the so-called, “Budget Repair Bill”. This is at 8:30. They also invite everyone interested in making signs and planning action to meet at the Rathskeller in Memorial Union this evening at 6:00.
