This afternoon the A.E. Havens Center sponsors a talk with Stephen Ball from the Institute of Education at the University of London. He will speak on “Exporting Policy: the Growth of Global Edu-Businesses.” This is in room 206 of Ingraham Hall at 4:00. Call 262-1420 for details.

This afternoon there is a protest of Governor Walker who is scheduled to speak at the “Forward Janesville Annual Dinner.” This is at 4:30 in Janesville’s Holiday Inn Express and conference center, 3100 Wellington Place. Call 608-255-0376 for carpooling information and details.

In light of recent developments regarding Wisconsin Republican Assembly and Senate actions there are several recall initiatives. Listeners may get more information by logging on to “recall the republican8.com” or by calling the Teaching Assistants Association (TAA) at 256-4375.

“Volunteer Income Tax Assistance”(VITA) and “Taxpayer Counseling for the Elderly” of the “Internal Revenue Service” and others provide income tax assistance to low-income, differently-abled, non-English speaking, or elderly people. On-going the James Watrous Gallery hosts an exhibit entitled, “Wisconsin Labor: A Contemporary Portrait”. The exhibit uses photographs by six artists to examine the diversity of Wisconsin’s labor force. This is at the Overture Center, 201 State Street through April 10 and will include several gallery talks. Gallery hours are flexible daily excluding Mondays. Call 265-2500 for details.
