This evening, the Peregrine Forum hosts UW Emeritus Professor, Dan Siegel, who will speak on “The Legitimacy of the Jewish Nation State History”. This is part of the Forum's ongoing series on the Israeli Palestinean Conflict. This is at Madison Public Library, 201 West Mifflin Street, at 6:30. Tonight, a group of departments from the UW host Dr. Balasubramaniam Murali, who will speak on the Global Progress Report on the UN Millenium Development Goals. The goals cover many humanitarian concerns such as extreme poverty, hunger, HIV/AIDS, ervironmental sustainability, gender disparity, child mortality, maternal health, universal education, and more. Dr. Murali is Deputy Chief at the United Nations Development Program. This is in Tripp Commons of the Memorial Union on Langdon Street from 7:00 to 8:30. Check union.wisc.edu/titu/ for more details.

Tonight, Amy Goodman and producer Sharif Abdel Kouddous of Democracy Now!, will give a talk titled, "Uprising: From the Middle East to the Midwest." This is a benefit event to support WORT-FM and there is a suggest donation. This is at the Orpheum Theatre, 216 State Street, from 7 to 9. Check wort-fm.org for more information.

Starting tonight, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Dance Department presents Slight Switches, a student concert features original works by nine student choreographers highlighting their talent as dancers and as choreographers. SlightSwitches will premiere a variety contemporary dance works that explore the incongruous human elements of relationships through movement. There is a ticket charge and it is at the Margaret H'Doubler Performance Space, Lathrop Hall, 1050 University Avenue, tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 8. Check dance.wisc.edu for more information.
