This morning the “South Central Federation of Labor” and others hold a rally against Governor Walker’s so-called “war” against state workers. For “I ‘Heart’ UW” day participants will meet at the “Memorial Union” at 11:30 and march to the Capitol Rotunda where they will deliver valentines. Call 556-9521 for details.
 
This evening on WORT’s “Access Hour” program they will discuss and celebrate the newspaper “Street Pulse”, produced by, for, and about the homeless in Madison. Call 256-2001 for details.

Tomorrow at noon on WORT’s A Public Affair host Cynthia Lin speaks with Sarah Rogers and others on winter biking, local bike resources, and hopefully broader topics around how "do-it-yourself" culture builds everyday acts of resistance that contribute to the broader work of reclaiming lives, resources, communities and systems. Today people are urged by the South Central Federation of Labor and others to call State Se
nators urging them to vote against Governor Walker’s bill to gut state employee rights at 1-877-753-5578.
 
The Urban League’s “Schools of Hope” program has a desperate need and many volunteer opportunities available for people. Participants will tutor at-risk elementary, middle and high school students with homework, organization, time management and study skills. For details call 251-8550.
