THE HISTORY OF August 3rd, I'm ___________________ .

And I’m__________________________________________. Today in 1913: During an Industrial Workers of the World strike at the Durst hops farms in Wheatland, California, armed county officials fire on a union meeting. An ensuing gun fight leaves four people dead, including the district attorney and sheriff.
Conditions on the Durst farms are abominable. With no water in the fields, the workers suffer from dysentery, malaria and typhoid fever. Four union officials will be arrested after the battle. Richard Ford and Herman Suhr will be convicted of murder and sentenced to life at California's Folsom penitentiary.
