THE HISTORY OF July 30th, I'm ___________________.

And I'm ___________________ . Today in 1966: Clarence Triggs of Bogalusa, Louisiana, is shot in the head and dumped on a roadside after taking part in a civil rights march. Two white men, Homer Richard Seale and John Copling Junior will be charged with the slaying.

Testimony during Copling's trial will determine that Triggs was shot when he offered to help the two white men with their disabled car. A jury deliberated less than an hour and found Copling innocent. Seale was never tried.
