There will be a formal opening program tonight from 6-7 pm at Edgewood College for "Windows into Gaza", a photo exhibit about children and daily life in Gaza by professional photographer Skip Schiel. The free exhibit will be open daily from 8 am to 9 pm through October 6 . This will be in Sonderegger Hall. The Exhibit is sponsored by Madison Monthly Meeting (Quakers); the Department of Philosophy and World Peace Program of Edgewood College, and the Madison-Rafah Sister City Project. The American Red Cross Blood Drive is having a blood drive today from 2pm to 6pm at the Lake Edge United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall 4200 Buckeye Rd. Call 1-800-RED CROSS for more information.

Wisconsin Books to Prisoners (WBTP) is a non-profit organization sponsored by “Rainbow bookstore” that sends books to prisoners in Wisconsin and other states. They believe that quote “books are tools for learning and can open minds to new ideas and fresh possibilities.” They accept donations. Contact 426 West Gilman Street or 257-6050 for details.

The Alliance for Animals (AFA) has volunteer opportunities to help animals. These might include tabling at the Farmer’s Market, distributing pro-animal literature or joining the antivivisection Committee. For details visit allanimals.org or call 257-6333.
