Today is the second annual Celebrate South Madison Festival at the South Madison Farmers' Market, 2300 South Park Street at the Villager Mall. This free family event offers all the goodness of the South Madison Farmers' Market, plus food, arts, crafts, kids' activities, and live music. Avol’s Books is sponsoring the Leftwing Literary Forum discussion of “Yonnondio”, the long-lost and hauntingly timely novel written in the 1930’s by Tillie Olsen about poverty and human endurance in the Great Depression. The City Clerk's Office will hold Voter ID information session on requirements of the new Voter ID law & how to obtain a free ID for voting purposes from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Alliance Church, 602 Acewood Blvd., in the lower level.
