This afternoon the “Family Farm Defenders” host a cooking demo with “chef Rocky Barnette” and the “Food Water and Water Watch” "Fair Food or Bust" Road Trip Team! This is at the Jenifer and Brearly corner of the Eastside Farmers Market at 4:00. Call 260-0900 for details.

This evening there is a discussion entitled, “Madison’s Homeless: what is being done for emergency shelter?” These are presentations from those who are providing emergency shelter. This is at 5:00 in “First United Methodist church”, 203 Wisconsin Avenue. Dinner will be provided. Call 255-5147 extension 23 for details.

The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen, whose families are under stress or in crisis. They are looking for volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.

The Insurgent Radio Kiosk needs a volunteer co-producer, engineers and readers. They may take as little as forty-five minutes weekly. Interested people should call the station at 256-2001 and leave a message of interest for the Kiosk.

The Women and Infant Children Nutrition program offers a wide variety of services, food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children less than five years of age healthy and strong. For details call 267-1111.

Evening Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.
