This evening, Absolutely Artand Cafe Zoma host an Opening Reception for artists Dorith Steinberg and Ralph Jumbeck. Dorith Steinberg took up photography as a way to share the scenes she experienced in the US with her family in Israel. Ralph’s exhibition is a combination of acrylic, oil, watercolor paintings, mixed media and prints. The exhibit runs through August. Keith Hampton will provide music. Tonight, Madison Infoshop continues its Summer Out-Door Movie Series with “Plague Dogs!” It is an animated adaptation of Richard Adams' novel where two dogs, Snitter and Rowf, escape from a research laboratory and try to survive in the wild with the help of a cunning fox. Tomorrow, Kidlinks World Inc. presents the 5th annual Africa Alive. Africa Alive is a fundraiser, from which 100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to benefit AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa. Entertainment includes WADOMA West African Dance, Tani Diakite, Tony Castaneda, Andy Ewen, African drumming, Spoken Word Poetry, and many activities. Sunday afternoon, Affordable Coop Housing Open House is showcasing MCCs plans to develop a new family friendly housing cooperative at Yahara View located on Madison’s near east side with focus on rehabbing the building with sustainability focus. Afterwards attendees are invited back to Syntropy Cooperative House on Jennifer Street for one of their typical home cooked co-op meals and get a tour of an existing MCC cooperative house.
