On the 2nd Thursday of each month, The Silly Yak Bakery & Bread Barn donates 10% of its day’s sales to an organization in and around Madison. This Thursday's recipient is Common Threads, a support organization for those on the autistic spectrum. The Silly Yak Bakery & Bread Barn is located at 7866 Mineral Point Road.

This evening, the People's Economic Project of the Peregrine Forum hosts a discussion entitled "Why Capitalist Economies Are Prone to Crises and Mature Capitalist Economies to Slow Growth & Stagnation". Tonight, the Climate Ground Zero Road Show. Climate Ground Zero is an ongoing campaign of non-violent civil resistance in southern West Virginian to end mountaintop removal for coal. This is at Faux-Op, 1151 East Johnson Street, at 7. Check climategroundzero.net for more details.

Dane County CASA seeks community volunteers to participate in its fall training for new volunteer child advocates. CASA volunteers work with and advocate for abused and neglected children under the supervision of Dane County Juvenile Courts. Volunteers visit assigned children, write reports to the court, and advocate for the best interests of the children they serve.
