This evening Physician’s for Social Responsibility host “Lanterns for Peace.” It is to remember the anniversary of the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan by the United States. The observance will reflect on visions of a peaceful world. Participants will use art supplies to make paper lanterns to float and write letters and petitions to Congress. This evening “Bankster USA” and others host Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Simon Johnson discussing "The Financial Crisis: Where We've Been and Where We Need to Go." The Wheelchair Recycling Program offers low cost, refurbished mobility and medical equipment to people that may not have the resources to obtain them new. This can include wheelchairs, walkers, bath items, grab bars and other assistive equipment for purchase. There are offices in Madison and the Greater-Milwaukee area.
