Thursday night at 5:30 pm, Just Coffee, 1129 E. Wilson will host a Madison Co-op Network meeting! The program includes a Potluck, a tour of the only unionized worker collective 100% fair trade coffee roaster in the U.S., followed by a discussion of how we can build the cooperative movement in Madison and beyond. Friday at noon, Saint Marks, 605 Spruce Street, will again offer a Free Meals and Movies Series! The Lives of Others, winner of the 2006 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, will be shown. A secret police agent in 1984 Berlin learns too much when bugging the apartment of a socialist playwright.

Thursday is the first day of the urban Agriculture Conference in Milwaukee. The event runs through Saturday and addresses the barriers to urban agriculture. Urban agricultural experts from around North America will join in forums, workshops, exhibitions, presentations, videos and networking. For details log on to growurban.org.

The Madison-area Urban Ministry is accepting auction items for its fund-raiser Thursday March 6 at 4:30 at Inn on the Park, 22 South Carroll Street The fund raiser will feature live Jazz , food, a cash bar and silent auction. To donate items or inquire about the event call 256-0906.

Today from 1:30 to 2:30, the School of Library and Information Studies offers the 2008 BUILDING BRIDGES COLLOQUIUM at SLIS Commons, 4207 Helen C. White Hall. Designed to bring together faculty and students, this year’s Building Bridges Colloquium features professor Madge Klais and doctoral student Awa Zhu discussing their latest research projects.

Today the Arboretum Visitor Center, 1207 Seminole Highway, will feature an art exhibit entitled" Wide Horizons: Rural Wisconsin Landscapes". Photographer Richard Wunsch presents panoramic photographs illustrating Wisconsin's rural landscapes, capturing the austere beauty of the many different scenic vistas and creating a photographic record of the natural beauty of Wisconsin's rural topography and man's impact on it. Thursday from 10 to 4, the American Red Cross will accept blood donations at 302 Union South (227 North Randall Avenue). Help saves lives. One blood donation helps up to three people. Thursday night at 7 PM, celebrate Black History month with Rev. Lucius Walker, one of today’s leading practitioners of nonviolent Civil Disobedience.
