Tuesday evening WORT holds a volunteer recruitment open house. Those arriving by 6:30 will get to see a live broadcast of "In Our Backyard". Those arriving at 7:00 can get pizza and refreshments, a presentation of volunteer opportunities and a tour of the station. This is 118 South Bedford Street. Tuesday night there is a monthly benefit for WORT. It is called First Tuesdays Reggae and features "Supa Ranks and His Rock Stone High Power; Tropical Riddims Sound System." This is in the Cardinal Bar and DanceHall, 418 East Wilson Street. That's at 8:00. Call 256-2001 for details.

Wednesday at noon on there are free or low-cost Hatha yoga classes. They are on Wednesdays through March twelfth in "The Crossing," 1127 University Avenue. For details or to RSVP call 249-2858.

Through February 25 Wisconsin Labor History Society invites high school students to write for an essay contest. The annual contest encourages labor history study in schools. The topic is "Unions have been important to my family and community because..." It should be about seven hundred and fifty words in length and should be sent by February 25 to Professor Harvey Kaye at the Center for History and Social Change in the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Outreach organization is looking for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgemder (lgbt) friendly babysitters. Parents who need a referral or babysitters who are lgbt friendly should call 255-8582 for details.

Evening Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious, low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 274-7978.

The Madison Department of Public Health gives low or no-cost flu shots to a wide variety of people. For details on who needs one, how to get one and prices call 244-5372.
