The Wisconsin Labor History Society invites high school students to write an around seven hundred fifty word essay for a contest encouraging labor history study in schools. The topic is "Unions have been important to my family and community because..." It should be sent by February 25 to the University of Wisconsin Green Bay's Professor Harvey Kaye at the Center for History and Social Change. Call 920- 465-2355 for details.

Outreach is looking for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgemder (lgbt) friendly babysitters. Parents who need a referral or babysitters who are lgbt friendly or people interested in sitting should call 255-8582 for details.

Sustain Dane has an upcoming reading and discussion course called "Monroe Street: Discovering a Sense of Place". This free eight session course begins on February twentieth. Call Caroline at 441-0292 for details.

There is a free computer lab in the Catholic Multicultural Center. It is available weekdays from 9:00-5:30 at 1862 Beld Street. Lab Users must always show a photo ID and take an orientation the first time. Call 255-1287 for details.

The Home Chore Volunteer Program, is seeking volunteers to help older people by doing household chores, such as snow shoveling, that may be difficult for them, making living at home impossible. Call 223-3100 for more information, or, to volunteer.
