Union Cab, Just Coffee, and Isthmus Engineering host at Co-op mixer. Attendees can meet local co-op members, learn how to build a local co-op network and learn about the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives. This is at Genna's Lounge, 105 West Main Street, from 4 to 8.


Tonight, there is a Rap Up Roundtable about Hip Hop as Critical Pedagogy. This is an interactive multi-media session on social justice education. This is in the State Historical Society Auditorium, 815 State Street, at 7. Check youthspeakswisconsin.org for details.


Tonight, Allen Ruff reads from his novel Save Me, Julie Kogon. The book tells the story of Harry Rabin's death and how his survivors learn of life. It paints a picture of history at the neighborhood level. This is at University Bookstore in Hilldale at 7. Check allenruff.com for more information.


Tonight, John Francis gives a talk entitled “How to Change Your World One Step at a Time”. He will speak on his latest book, soon to be made into a movie. He witnessed an oil taker spill in the San Francisco Bay in the late 1970s and as a result went on to from PlanetWalk, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising environmental awareness and promoting peace.
