Tuesday evening Community Action on Latin America (CALA) hosts a presentation and slideshow by John Kinsman of “Family Farm Defenders”. He will highlight the efforts of farmers to make partnerships across borders as a response to global trade issues. That’s at 7:00 at Rainbow Bookstore, 426 West Gilman Street. Tuesday afternoon there is a panel discussion entitled, “Climate Change and Wisconsin’s Future: Issues and Opportunities. Should Wisconsin move ahead on climate change policy”? Participants include Senator Mark Miller, of the Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee and Keith Reopelle, program director of “Clean Wisconsin”, This is at 2:30 in room 180 of Science Hall. Wednesday morning the Stoughton Senior Center welcomes Reid Miller’s Paw Paw Puppet Theater presentations of “The Fable of Lion and Mouse”, and “The Tale of Monkey and Crocodile”. The show entails folksinging, puppetry and storytelling. This is at 11:00 in the Stoughton Senior Center, 245 West Main Street. Call 608-576-7529 for details or reservations. Until tax filing day on April 15 the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs provide people with limited incomes, disabilities, or limited English proficiency free tax help. For details call 1-800-829-1040 or (414) 297-3302.

Many Madison Seniors are not able to keep their lawns trim and tidy themselves. The Madison Coalitions of Older Adults Home Chore Volunteer Program is looking for people to help do this on either a one-time or on-going basis. Volunteers are asked to call 243-5252 and ask for Nicole.

The Women and Infant Children (WIC) Nutrition program offers a wide variety of services, food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children under five years of age healthy and strong. For details call 267-1111.
