Tonight, the Madison SOA Vigil is held in solidarity with those gathered at Ft. Benning. This annual Vigil protests US foreign policy and the use of torture. This begins at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 605 Spruce Street, at 5:30 with a solemn procession to the Catholic Multicultural Center, 1862 Beld Street at 6:30. This is free and open to the public. Tomorrow, the Madison Area Peace Coalition hosts a peace vigil to Bring the Troops Home Now and End the War in Iraq. This is the Vigil’s One Year Anniversary. Participants are asked to bring signs and drums if possible. This is at the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Thierer Road near East Towne Mall, from 11 to noon. Sunday, United Church of Christ hosts a Fair Trade Chirstmas Sale. The event features fair trade, hand-crafted items from developing regions of the world. Sunday, law student representatives of the National Lawyers Guild and the Latino Law Students Association hold a workshop entitled “"Conociendo Nuestros Derechos” or “Knowing our Rights”. Topics include rights at home, at work, on the street, at a protest, in detention and more. This is interactive and bilingual.
