This week HospiceCare hosts an exploration of grief traditions from around the world. Also today there is a presentation on HospiceCare traditions by a Madison expert at noon. This is at the HospiceCare Center, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway. Call 327-7006 for details.

This Friday the Parental Stress Center is training volunteers to answer the Parent Stressline. The Stressline volunteers provide a listening ear to parents when they just need to talk. Volunteers answer calls from their own home or cell phone. The next orientation session is on Friday at 5:30. Call 241-4888 for details.

The Home Chore Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to help older people by doing household chores, such as yard work, that may be difficult for them, making living at home impossible. Call 223-3100 for details or to volunteer.

The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen,
whose families are under stress or in crisis. They are looking for volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.

Briarpatch seeks volunteers to work with teens in crises, either by answering the crises line, providing emergency shelter, or, acting as family counselors. Some positions may require training. Call Debi at 251-6211 for more information or, to volunteer.

The Dane County Humane Society tries not to perform euthanasias on animals. As such they are asking for people to consider adopting or providing foster care to an animal. They may also donate time, money or pet supplies to the shelter at 5132 Voges Road. Call 838-0413 for details.
