Today at noon SEIU local one and supporters hold an informational picket outside the Risser Justice Building on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Call 256-5111 for details. Tomorrow at noon they again will picket and hold a short march to the DOA Building on East Wilson Street followed by leafleting.

This evening there is a meeting of the Madison Area Peace Coalition, which organizes a broad-based movement to inform public opinion and promote United States government policies that truly further peace, justice, and freedom in the world. This is at 6:30 in the Wil-mar Neighborhood Center, 953 Jenifer Street. Call 442-8822 for details.

This evening the Mayor holds a public hearing on the 2007 budget. This is in the downtown public library, 201 West Mifflin Street at 6:00. Call 266-4611 for details.
This evening the group No Nazi’s in Madison meets in the Paul Bunyan room of the Memorial Union at 7:00. Call 260-2639 or 216-1368 for details.

This evening Madison Hours holds a trade fair and potluck. The organization tries to build wealth in the community while meeting local needs. This event is a good place to meet other people in the community that are interested in creating a vibrant local network of exchange. Attendees are invited to bring goods to sell or trade and a dish to pass. Call 259-9050 for details.

The Project Home’s annual Dane County Paint-A-Thon is in August. Project Home improves the quality and affordability of housing for low- to moderate-income residents of Dane and Green Counties. In Dane County they provide no cost exterior painting services to low-income elderly and disabled homeowners. Donations of paint supplies, money and volunteer time are appreciated.
