This evening the “Alicia Ashman” branch of the Madison Public Library hosts a meeting of the “Science Fiction and Fantasy book group”. This month they will read “The Phoenix and the Sword” which is the first short story featuring “Conan” They will also watch the film “Conan the Barbarian” This is in 733 North High Point Road. Community Literacy is a Literacy Network English as a Second Language program designed to tutor adult learners one-on-one in a classroom setting where childcare and additional tutor support are available. “Networks Exchange,” needle replacement program is an authorized, anonymous, community harm reduction plan. It is associated with the “AIDS Network.” They are open weekdays from 10:00 to 6:30. For details call 516-2158.

Low cost spayings and neuterings for dogs and cats are available through the Dane County Humane Society. There are various times and prices and they include an FVRCP vaccine. Caretakers of feral or free-roaming cats can be helped as well. Call 838-0413 extension 103 for an appointment or details.
