Attention, home chefs: Our recipe contest has been extended through October 31st! The Madison Area CSA Coalition is currently soliciting recipes from the public through a recipe contest. Interested participants should send in their original recipes that feature fresh, local produce and are ready to serve in 60 minutes of less. This contest is open to all, and multiple submissions are welcome. Everyone who submits a recipe will receive a discount code for purchasing the new cookbook. Today, a 'Gay & Gray Discussion Group' for senior adults from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community meet for friendly conversations that are informal, open dialogues. LGBT persons, their friends, and families are welcome. Participants determine the topics based on current interests and a facilitator attends each meeting. Street Pulse, Madison's Homeless cooperative newspaper, seeks to find innovative ways to alleviate and raise awareness of homelessness and poverty, find accessible employment and provide a platform for important, marginalized voices neglected by popular media to be heard. Pick up an Issue of the Street Pulse Newspaper for a suggested donation of $1.00 from any of our vendors located on State Street, Capital Square, and Willy Street Coop and in other locations. 'How Nonprofits Shape Madison' is a photographic celebration of Madison's Nonprofit Organizations. The exhibit runs August 3-31 at Absolutely Art 2322 Atwood Ave. Call 249-9100 for details.
