Show solidarity with the heroic workers in Brockton, MA, who are standing up for livable wages, sick days, health benefits and breaks by forming a union. The Madison Arcatao Sister City Project is sending a delegation to El Salvador in early August. They are collecting children's books in Spanish and Spanish/English dictionaries to donate to the library in Arcatao. The deadline for book donations is Saturday, July 30th. Ongoing until August 7th is Olbrich Gardens Blooming Butterflies. Immerse yourself in the world of life, free-flying butterflies as they float through the lush tropics of Olbrich's Bolz Conservatory. Street Pulse, Madison's Homeless cooperative newspaper, seeks to find innovative ways to alleviate and raise awareness of homelessness and poverty, find accessible employment and provide a platform for important, marginalized voices neglected by popular media to be heard. Pick up an Issue of the Street Pulse Newspaper for a suggested donation of $1.00 from any of our vendors located on State Street, Capital Square, and Willy Street Coop and in other locations.
