The Alliance for Animals presents One Lucky Elephant: A Ten Thousand Pound Love Story,  a highly acclaimed documentary.  The evening includes the film, food from Bunky’s Café.  Appetizers served at 6:30 and the movie will begin at 7:30 p.m.   There is a cost to this event.  It is taking place at the East Side Club, 3735 Monona Drive in Monona. On July 9th Red Caboose Day Care Center invites you to participate in the 1st Annual Move Your Caboose 5K Run/Walk. All the proceeds from this event will go to our Scholarship Fund, which benefits low-income families.  The event is organized in conjunction with La Fete de Marquette Festival & will take place at 9:30 a.m. on July 9th in the Willy Street Neighborhood. Wisconsin native and Nashville country musician Maggie Mae will perform with Heartland Country in a benefit concert for the Badger Honor Flight to raise funds for taking World War II veterans for a day trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the WWII memorial. The concert takes place on Sunday, July 10th at 2pm at the Middleton Performing Arts Center. For information call: 608-767-4903.

Gandhian scholar Prasad Gollanapalli speaks on "The Relevance of Gandhi to the Wisconsin Movement Today," on Saturday, July 9th at 2pm.  This will be at the Madison Friends Meetinghouse, 1704 Roberts Court. The annual Madison Early Music Festival (MEMF) this summer will explore the fusion of cultures and music in the New World during the Renaissance and Baroque eras with a series of public concerts and workshops presented by some of the brightest stars of the Early Music world.
