This afternoon, the Lectures Committee Announces hosts Thomas J. Garza, University Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. His lecture is entitled “Of Macho and Men: Russian and Latino Heroes in Contemporary Film”. Th is in Room 206 of Ingraham Hall, 1155 Observatory Drive, at 4. This is free and open to the public. This evening, the Peregrine Forum meets to discuss “The 1948 Palestine War and Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinians”. This is part of the Forum's ongoing series on the Israeli Palestinean Conflict. Tonight, the Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy hosts a Free introductory session to Empowerment through Movement, a therapy group for women. Therapists will introduce the format and some examples of experiENtial activities of this body-based therapy group for women. Sunday, Wisconsin Wave holds protests as a call for a wave of resistance. Wisconsin Wave believes in a fully funded public sector, taxes on corporations and the wealthy to cover the budget deficit, the right of union organizing, expansion of voting rights, and more.
