Tonight, the Madison Savoyards will present “Matches and Mismatches”, its seventh annual winter concert for lovers of Gilbert & Sullivan works. The audience, led by Terry Kiss Frank, will also sing choruses from several works. This is in the Landmark Auditorium of the First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive, at 7:30. Tomorrow, the Madison Institute hosts its next Progressive Roundtable Discussion. Jon Peacock, Director of the Wisconsin Budget Project, will discuss Death & Taxes. He will summarize the state’s budget challenges, the tax proposals under consideration in the state legislature, and the potential effects of those proposals on the state budget. He will also discuss some of the alternatives for a more balanced approach to balancing the budget, which could reduce the extent of the spending cuts. This event is free and open to the public.
