Tonight, the Rave Theatre presents a one night charity production of the radio play “It’s a Wonderful Life”. They are using the original 1947 script and the actors will be in 1940’s costumes as if they were recording a live radio show complete with big microphones. This is free with a monetary or non-perishable food donation to the local food pantry. This is at the Mazomanie Community Building stage, 9 Brodhead Street, at 8:30. Tomorrow, the Cross Plains Area Chamber of Commerce hosts Santa at the Cross Plains Berry Fire Station. Volunteers will collect donations for kids gifts and visitors can explore the shopping area featuring inexpensive gifts. A gift or cash donation to be used for door prizes and gifts for the children is requested. This is at the Fire Station, 1501 Bourbon Road in Cross Plains, from 9 to 11 in the morning. Tomorrow is the 14th Annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival featuring over fifty fair trade and local vendors. They will sell art, crafts, clothing, home decorations, pottery, weavings, food gifts, and more form Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Wisconsin. Tomorrow, Madison Hours holds its Holiday Trade Fair. The trade features holiday gifts in exchange for the local currency. High Noon will also be accepting Madison Hours for Ale Asylum beer. Tomorrow afternoon, the Immigrant Workers Union holds an Immigrant Rights Community Forum to talk about Representative Don Pridemore's proposal to introduce legislation in Wisconsin similar to SB 10170 recently passed in Arizona. Tomorrow, the Neighborhood House Community Center hosts its annual holiday auction featuring local community business items including a one week stay in Mexico. This benefits the Neighborhood House. Tomorrow night, Peregrine Forum holds a showing of “Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Chicago writer and Kubrick admirer Hugh Iglarsh will relate the movie to the political currents of then and now and discuss how Kubrick and co-writer Terry Southern used dark humor to perfectly capture a seriously absurd situation. Sunday morning, Saint Paul’s University Catholic Center’s Center for Land and People holds the Hope Farmers Market. This features vendors with a wide variety of local food and fair trade items. Sunday, Arboretum Cohousing holds their second annual craft show featuring a wide array of handmade gifts and crafts. The event also features a bake sale with proceeds benefiting the Neighborhood House, children's activities and crafts, live music, a white elephant sale and a food drive.
