This evening “Madison's Common Council” will vote on whether to privatize the “Overture Center”. This will end union jobs despite the hardship it will create. There is at 6:00 outside the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Boulevard. Call 256-5111 for details.

This evening the “Haven’s Center” has the next in their fall 2010 film series. This one is entitled, “Why We Fight.” It is about the ”Military/ Industrial Complex.” This is at 7:15 in room 6210 of the Social Science building, 1180 Observatory drive. Call 262-1420 for details.

From now through January 2 “NECA” (National Electrical Contractors Association), the “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers” (IBEW) and others have constructed the “Holiday Fantasy in Lights.” These are light pictures of a bulldozer, Santa and his sleigh, a Menorah and other holiday items. This month Mother Fool's Coffeehouse and Michigan artist “John French” offer radiant oil paintings. This is at 1101 Williamson Street in Madison. This is on-going daily. Call 259-1301 for details.
