Today, the South Madison Farmers’ Market hosts a celebration. It includes free youth activities, music and dance performances from 4 to 6. Special guests, the Dja-Rara dancers and musicians from Haiti & Brooklyn perform from 5 to 6 as part of the Madison World Music Festival. The Market begins at 2. This evening, the Community and Resistance Tour stops in Madison. The tour seeks to communicate about current struggles for justice and liberation, from the current BP Oil Drilling Disaster devastating the Gulf Coast to nooses hung in the northern Louisiana town of Jena. South Central of Wisconsin's Move to Amend needs volunteers to circulate petitions at Food for Thought Festival and at Willy Street Fair both Saturday and Sunday. The petitions ask the City of Madison to place a resolution on Madison's Spring Ballot affirming that constitutional rights must be protected for people, not corporations.
