Tomorrow, REAP Food Group holds its 12th Annual Food for Thought Festival. Highlights include keynote speaker Ann Cooper, the renegade lunch lady, exhibits from 50-plus groups and businesses, kid’s activities, cooking demonstrations, and lots of local food. Tomorrow is the Best Vgean Chili Fest and Silent Auction. This is a benefit fundraiser or Alliance for Animals. The speaker of the event is Anthony Marr, Environmentalist and Animal Rights activist, and founder of Heal our Planet Earth. There is an admission charge. This is at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa Street, from 5:30 to 8:30. Check allanimals.org for details.

Sunday, the Rape Crisis Center hosts the 15th Annual Java Jive, a coffee tasting to benefit the Center. The event features live jazz from the Jan Wheaton Trio, and a silent auction. Sunday, the Madison Infoshop holds an Open House and Book Sale featuring zines, a lending library, baked goods and a huge book sale to support Wisconsin Books to Prisoners. This is at the Madison Infoshop, 1019 Williamson Street, from 11 to 7. Call 262-9036 for details.
