Tonight at 6 pm, Good Oak Ecological Services will lead a Wildflower Walk of the Atwood Community Prairie. This urban prairie is right along the east isthmus bike path, across from the Atwood Community Gardens. The group will meet at the info Kiosk at the mid point of the prairie. Tonight at 7 pm, Tyler Boudreau will speak about his book Packing Inferno:The Unmaking of a Marine and his trip to Madison. As part of Tyler's trip from Seattle, WA to Northampton, MA, he is visiting with communities to join discussions about the wars of our time and to share experiences in hopes of broadening the discourse and deepening the understanding. Wisconsin Capitol Pride is looking for Volunteers for Pride Weekend August 16 and 17 for set-up, teardown, registration, admission, security, parade assistance, and the entertainment/stage, and beverage teams. This week is the last week of the Blooming Butterfly show at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue in Madison. Visitors can experience the magnificence of free-flying butterflies while strolling through the tropical Bolz Conservatory.
