Tonight at 6 PM the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation will offer a walking tour of the University Heights. Participants will be led through this historic neighborhood, home to designs by architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan. The tour meets in front of Louis Sullivan's Bradley House, 106 North Prospect Avenue and will last approximately one hour. No reservations are required. For details call 441-8864.

The Madison Clothing Exchange Project is an exclusive and sustainable way for local women in their 20's and 30's to update their wardrobe. Each event includes a social hour and a garment exchange. Friday at noon a rally, march, and celebration for "Freedom Summer" are planned at the State Capitol. Attendees will hear about the “People's Economic Stimulus Plan” and the need for affordable housing, “jobs not jails”, more access to public services, disparities in the criminal justice system and attacks on the right to public space. Friday from 1 to 4, the “South Madison Health and Family Center, Harambee”, will offer its last free canoe workshop for South Madison kids at Wingra Park, 700 Knickerbocker Street. For details call 261-9138.

The fourth annual “Africa Alive” fundraiser is seeking sponsors. “Africa Alive” is an outdoor family festival that brings together music, dance, costume contests, balloon artists, jugglers, face painters and more entertainment for all ages. This year, the festival will be held at the “Capital Brewery” in Middleton on August 1. All proceeds will support Kidlinks’ efforts to benefit AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa.
