Registration is underway for the Monona Public Library play "The Life of Beethoven", performed by the Traveling Lantern Theater Company on July 21st at 1 pm. The play is designed for the K-6 age group and focuses on how genius and dedication overcome disability in the true story of this composer’s life. Registration is requested and can be completed online at mononalibrary.org. For details call 222-6127.

The Madison Area Technical College is looking for mentors and short-term hosts for a group of 20 international students. These students come from developing world countries such as Egypt, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Turkey and Indonesia. Their study in Madison is made possible by grant funding. If you would like to help show these students what Madison is all about and build connections and friendships with these students from round the world call 243-4556.

The Madison Clothing Exchange Project is an exclusive and sustainable way for local women in their 20's and 30's to update their wardrobe. Each event includes a social hour and a garment exchange. It's an opportunity for women to clean out their closet, meet new friends and get some new duds. Several events are scheduled this summer with the next one slated for July 22. Today senior adults from the LGBT communities meet from 2:30 to 4pm at the Madison Public Library, Room 201. These are friendly conversations that are informal, open dialogues. Friends and families of LGBT folks are welcome. Participants determine the topics based on current interests and the groups are facilitated. For details contact 255-8582.

South Madison Health and Family Center, Harambee, offers a free Summer Canoeing program for South Madison Kids. The workshops and canoe days will be held at Wingra Park, 700 Knickerbocker Street and will be held for the next 3 Fridays at 1 PM. For details call 261-9138.
